Organize the preservation of traditional festivals representing ethnic minorities
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy signed a document No. 2072/QD-BVHTTDL on the organization of traditional festival preservation activities typical ethnic minorities in the fourth quarter, 2022.Accordingly, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism assigns the Department of Ethnic Culture to assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Departments of Culture and Sports of the provinces: Ha Giang, Phu Tho, Thanh Hoa, Lao Cai and related agencies and units organize the preservation of the typical traditional festival of ethnic minorities, in 2022.
The program aims to create a strong change in awareness and sense of protection and promotion of traditional national cultural values of relevant cultural subjects, organizations and individuals; arouse pride and solidarity in the national community. Thereby contributing to preserving cultural identity, protecting and promoting intangible cultural values; building products for local tourism development; effectively promoting investment resources of the state, society and community in the conservation and promotion of traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development.

Funding for implementation is extracted from the central budget in 2022 to implement the national target program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the 2021-2025 period of the Ministry of Culture and Sports. and Tourism are provided to the Department of Ethnic Culture through the Office of the Ministry and the funding sources of the coordinating agencies and units (if any).
Accordingly, in the town of Sa Pa, Lao Cai province will take place activities to preserve and promote the New Rice Festival of Giay ethnic group, with the participation of 5 artisans, 65 practitioners who are ethnic Giay people in Ta Van commune.
In Ngoc Lac District, Thanh Hoa province will be activities to preserve and restore Muong Lap Festival, with the participation of 5 artisans, 65 students who are Muong ethnic people; Muong Don festival in Thach Thanh district of Muong ethnic group, with the participation of 5 artisans, 65 practitioners are Muong ethnic people.
In Quang Binh district, Ha Giang province, there will be activities to preserve and restore the fire dance festival of the Pa Then ethnic group, with the participation of 8 artisans and 62 students from the Pa Then ethnic group.
In Thanh Son district, Phu Tho province, there will be activities to preserve and promote the new rice festival of the Muong ethnic group, with the participation of 5 artisans and 65 students from the Muong ethnic group.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ha Giang, Phu Tho, Thanh Hoa and Lao Cai provinces in collaboration with the Department of Ethnic Culture and the People's Committee of the district to conduct a field survey, research, collect, collect information and documents about the above-mentioned festivals; propose solutions to preserve and promote festivals; synthesize and make a list of artisans and students participating in the conservation and restoration of the festival; coordinate in implementing planned tasks to preserve, restore and promote traditional festivals.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recommends relevant agencies, units and localities to actively coordinate with the Department of Ethnic Culture and Ethnic Culture to organize the implementation of tasks to ensure progress and efficiency.
